The Principal Investigator (PI) or designee must provide the annual laboratory safety refresher training to research staff, which must include specific safety topics (see memo). For your convenience, the Site-Specific Training Record (SSTR) and Annual Safety Refresher (ASR) checklists were merged into the new SSTR Application. This simplifies the process and expedites compliance.

Safety Refresher Training Alternatives
The SSTR Application offers laboratories at USC the option to review training materials together as a lab group; however, there are alternatives for individuals who are unavailable at the time of the in-lab training. Those options include:
- General Laboratory Safety Training
- Researchers may take the General Lab Safety training online via TrojanLearn; or
- Sign up for an instructor-led training session via the Training Registration Page.
- Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Refresher Training
- Researchers may take the BBP online via TrojanLearn to fulfill the BBP annual requirement; or
- Sign up for an Instructor-led BBP Session via the Training Registration Page.
- Radiation Safety Refresher (RAD): Anyone working with radioactive materials (RAM) at USC must take a radiation safety refresher annually.
- Researchers may take the Rad Refresher online via TrojanLearn
