If you will be working with radioactive materials or radiation-producing devices, you will need to take one or more of the following Radiation Safety Training sessions offered by EH&S:

 

Radiation Safety Training (RST)

Who needs the training?

  • Personnel working with radioactive isotopes (required)
  • Personnel to be added to radiation permit (required)

When is it offered?

Where is it held?

How do I enroll?

 

X-Ray Diffraction Training (XRD)

Who needs the training?

  • Personnel working with X-ray diffraction units (required)

How do I enroll?

  • Contact radsafety@usc.edu to receive a self-paced safety presentation + quiz. Complete the quiz and submit through email to receive a certificate of completion.

 

X-Ray Irradiator Training (XRI)

Who needs the training?

  • Personnel using X-ray irradiator (required)
  • Personnel to be added to X-ray permit and to gain access to irradiator (required)

When is it offered?

  • In-person training scheduled upon request

Where is it held?

  • HSC: Broad CIRM Center (BCC) Room B103A, 1425 San Pablo St., Los Angeles, CA 90033
