USC generally prohibits operations of Unmanned Aerial Systems (“UAS”, or commonly known as a “drones”) on or above USC property or in connection with USC-sanctioned or affiliated events or activities to include commercial, recreational, hobbyist, or other uses for reasons of safety, privacy, and security risks. See USC Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) Policy. General procedures related to the policy are available for download.

Exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the USC UAS Review Board. Those seeking an exception must submit a completed UAS Prohibition Exemption Application and UAS Operating Plan to the USC UAS Review Board (uscdrone@usc.edu) 10 business days prior to the desired drone use date for consideration.
