What is ECA and Who Needs It?

Researchers seeking a grant from the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command (USAMRMD) may be required to submit an Environmental Compliance Assurance (ECA) validated by the research institution, stating that grantees are in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

How do I get an ECA?

EH&S’s Environmental Compliance program works with the Department of Contracts and Grants (DGS) and the grant applicators (PI) to determine compliance and process the paperwork.

Procedure

  1. Record the research proposal title under “Enter proposal title” in the Environmental Compliance Assurance Form – DGS Office or PI.
  2. Complete the Environmental Compliance Assurance Checklist – PI.
  3. Email both forms to EHS@usc.edu.

EH&S will review the checklist to confirm compliance and if approved, send the completed and signed ECA Form back to DGS.
